How to make Play-Doh

I finally did it. James REALLY likes to play with Play-Doh. The problem is that I bought some cheap Play-Doh from the Dollar Store but I wasn’t sure if it was safe for him. Usually at some point he tries to eat it. So I decided to put the cheap stuff away and make him some.
Here are the ingredients that you will need:
2 cups flour
2 cups warm water
1 cup salt
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 Tablespoon cream of tartar
Food coloring (for later)
This is stuff you will probably have at home. The salt seems like a bit much but we happened to have two big containers of it.
OK, this is how you make it. IT REALLY DOES WORK!!
First put all of the ingredients in a pot.
Next, heat the pot full of ingredients on the stove of low until it becomes a Plah-Doh-like consistency. It will get increasingly difficult to stir. If it is sticky, then you need to cook it longer.
Then, take the dough out of the pot and let it cool enough to handle. Then divide the dough into balls. Make however many balls you want depending on how many different colors you choose. I chose 5 colors, so I made 5 balls.
Make a pit in the dough balls and squirt food coloring in the pit.
Then knead the dough so the color spreads evenly. Add more food coloring depending on how dark you want the dough to be.
Next, play with the dough.
Last, store the dough in an air tight container.

I like to add ketchup too. It tastes better.
