How to lose weight

Here is the deal on losing weight, or more importantly, losing fat percentage.  Most people think they have to skip meals, or eat a lot less.  This works in the short term, but in the long run makes you put on more fat weight.  Here is the secret.  Eat the right foods, and eat MORE […]

State of the Union

Well, I listened to the State of the Union address, and I really didn’t get anything out of it.  One thing I did notice by watching it though.  When you look out at all the people in congress, the people right there watching the president, aren’t they supposed to be our representatives?  Well, I saw […]

Cranberry Pale Ale is awesome

Well, tonight I tried my first ever glass of homemade beer.  It is the Cranberry Pale Ale that I made and wrote a post about back in late December.

It is delicious.  It is the BEST BEER I HAVE EVER TASTED!  I am not just saying that because I made it, it really is the best […]

Dutch apple pie with Breyer’s French vanilla ice cream

Tonight, we had a hot Mrs. Smith’s Dutch apple pie with some Breyer’s French vanilla ice cream.  Needless to say, it was very good.  The best part is when the ice cream melts onto the crumb crust.  Stephanie had 3 helpings, but since she is pregnant, I won’t say anything.  Smile.

I bought the shoes

Well, Steph and I went to look for shoes at Kohl’s department store.  I am not a fan of Kohl’s store, I like to buy my stuff at little mom and pop shops.  Steph convinced me to go look.  So, I found the Dockers Bastille Oxfords.  They had one pair size 13, which is my […]

Well, it has been three weeks since brewing my first batch of home brew, the cranberry pale ale.  Steph ordered some one liter bottles from Mr. Beer for me.  Here are the steps to bottle the beer.
1)  Check the keg to make sure it everything has settled to the bottom (yeast, etc.)
2)  Pour about 1 […]

Another Baby Update

Yesterday was a big day for me and the baby.  Neither one of us knew what the day would bring.
I had yet another appointment with the high risk Obstetrician.  They wanted to check my fluid levels and make sure everything looked ok.  Lucky for us, they did a growth measurement also.  Guess how much big […]

Another change to my top 25 pop songs of the 1980’s

It is now, for the time being, known as the top 25 songs of the 1980’s pop genre plus 5.  I keep on remembering songs that shouldn’t be left out, so from now on I will just change the title to “plus” whatever number I have added.  Of course,  I reserve the right to make […]

Dockers Bastille Oxford shoe

I need a new pair of shoes for work.  I am a teacher, which means I stand and walk around all day.  My feet and ankles are not the best, due to my athletic ventures when I was younger.  Steph and I went to look for shoes this afternoon.  I decided we should go to […]

Scary caller to a radio station

On the way home from work today, I was listening to a radio station called the HAWK.  The DJ on this station in the afternoon usually makes some sort of statement and asks listeners to call in with opinions.  He then usually pokes some sort of fun at the caller.  Today was different.  The DJ […]
