Frank Capra Jr. passed away this week.  I met him years ago.  Way back when I was in high school, I dated his niece Monica Capra for a couple of years.  I can honestly say he was a very nice man.  I only met him a couple of times, but he was very polite and nice to me.  I met him when he was working on the film Firestarter starring Drew Barrymore.  Unlike many of the stories you hear about “Hollywood” families, the Capra’s, as far as I knew them for those few years, were very sincere and good people.  They always included me in whatever they were doing, and every single one of them seemed down to earth, nothing fake about them at all.  They took me to many nice restaurants and introduced me to many nice things without a hint of a condescending attitude.  I just wish I had been a little older to fully appreciate some of the things we did.  It is sad to hear that such a nice man has passed away.  My condolences to the family.
