Penn State proves mom was right!

So, to revisit an earlier post that I wrote about my mom’s remedies for sickness when I was a child.  Honey and a little whiskey.  Well, in yesterday’s newspaper, the Wilmington Star News, a subsidiary of the New York Times, there was an article about using honey to help children’s sickness.(over the age on one).  The article states that giving a child a teaspoon of honey before bed when they are sick calms cough and helps them sleep better.  (I guess the whiskey really helps you sleep better)  The article states that honey works better than children’s cough medicines or no medicine at all.  Never give honey to a child that is younger than one year old.  Anyway, the study was conducted by researchers at Pennsylvania State University’s college of medicine.

Well, looks like mom was right.  Way to go mom.
