Let’s just start with, overall my cats are pretty well behaved cats.  Occasionally they will get under the bed and refuse to come out or scratch at the door to get in.  But otherwise, they are good. 

I try to clip their claws regularly but I understand cats have this overwhelming urge to scratch.  Up to now, we have only had minor occasions when they try to scratch something inside.  Usually they scratch the huge cat house out in the garage.  So I went to Petco and I bought them Big Mama’s Cat Scratch-o-Rama.  I didn’t really have high expectations for it.  I figure most of the items at Pet-stores don’t really work.  Well, mark me wrong for this one.   

Lil’ K took to it right away.  It has a little bit of catnip around the outside and she was high as a kite in a matter of minutes.  Her eyes were wide open and she was rolling back and forth on it. 

Sparky on the other hand could have cared less.  (I never really let either one of them have cat nip before.)

It’s been about two weeks now and the cats only scratch the mat when inside.  They both love it.  (Sparky finally came around.)  They sit, sleep and play on it too.   It’s nice because it doesn’t take up a lot of room and they can get their urge to scratch out of the way.

Next we need to work on Lil’ K’s need to go in and out to the garage every 2 minutes.   Weird!!
